I wanted to take a quick moment to acknowledge that choosing someone to capture all of the special moments from your Big Day can be a daunting task! -- but I am here for you ready to dish out some tips when choosing the perfect Wedding Photographer for your Special Day!!
This decision is a biggie -- so let's dive into some key things that I think you should keep in mind!
1. How Many Hours Do You Need?
Amanda and I have found that 10 hours is the sweet spot for weddings!
This timeframe allows us to cover everything from those fun Getting-Ready Moments to the important Reception Shenanigans!
If you feel like you might need more time -- with us that is no problem at all!! -- But I would just check if your photographer allows you to add extra hours! I feel that flexibility when choosing a photographer is key! Amanda and I always put our Brides and Grooms first and are completely flexible when it comes to customizing what is important to you and your Bestie for your Special Day!
2. Can You Add a Second Photographer?
In my opinion -- a Second Photographer is a Game-Changer! -- Seriously!
With two Photographers -- you will get multiple angles and a ton more photos! And who wouldn't want that!
With Edward Jacob Photography -- you get Amanda and I for the entire Wedding Day coverage!! Yep, you heard that right every wedding! -- she even tags along on Engagement Sessions too -- because she is just as eager as me to meet you and your Best Friend!
This means double the coverage, double the angles, and most importantly -- double the fun!
Be sure to ask if your photographer offers a Second Shooter and how long they will be there! Trust me -- you’ll love the results!

3. Do You Want an Engagement Session?
I genuinely want to get to know ALL of our couples -- not only just what poses look best on you and your Best Friend -- but as an individual and as a couple! What are your Hobbies? How did you meet? I want to know it ALL!! -- which is why we include a FREE Engagement Session with most of our Wedding Packages!
Think of your Engagement Session as a FUN practice run for the Big Day!
Engagement Sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and with us, your photographers!! -- and most importantly a time that we can share a few laughs along the way!
Plus, you’ll have some photos to share on social Media or use for Save-the-Dates before your Wedding! -- Sounds like a Win-win to me!

4. Will Your Photographer Make You a Timeline?

I LOVE having all the questions answered before your Big Day! Your Wedding Day is going to be busy enough and there is no reason to have any extra stress of making sure your are budgeting enough time on your Special Day!

5. Do You Love the Photographer’s Editing Style?
In my onion this is the most important!! Before booking all of my EJP Couples I like to make sure that they have stalked through my instagram and/or portfolio on my website!! Photography is an art -- and every photographer including Amanda and I have a unique style! I would strongly encourage you to make sure that you check out their website and portfolio! If you don’t love what you see -- keep looking until you find a style that aligns with your vision! It’s your day -- and you deserve photos that you’ll cherish forever!
Choosing a Wedding Photographer is a big decision! -- but it doesn’t have to be stressful! With these tips I think that you will be well on your way to finding the perfect fit!
